Cindy Fisher

Along the lines of the American Children post below, Elaine's relationship with Cindy Fisher seems to mirror the racial tensions present in the adult community. Why is Cindy so central to the story?

Cindy is so central to this story because cindy needs forces or main chareter elaine to mix her to identities. I say this beacuse i feel Cindy challeges elaine every chance she gets. She keeps reminding Eliaine that she is from china . She pushes her buttons every chance she gets to nag at her about her differences between the two races and that makes Elaine loose it.

Cindy is the central to the story because she is a minoritiy. She often feels left out.So handle her anger she takes it out on people.

I agree with tinkerbell babii because Cindy causes Elaine to mix her identities together when she tries so hard to keep them separate. By causing Elaine to mix her identities together shows her it is hard to not be your true self.

Cindy Fisher is someone who shares a common ground with Elaine: they both have experienced some racial seperations. Cindy chooses to be extremely assertive and aggressive, while Elaine chooses to be introverted. They both show the different ways you can deal with being the minority in a group. Cindy represents the aggresive attitude that Elsine wishes she had.

I think that Cindy is central to Elaine because she faces her on raical problems so she takes her on anger out on her. Also Cindy Makes Elaine force her identies to combine together. Also Elaine starts to make friends but cindy picks on everyone so know Cindy turns the class against her. Cindy force her to think about two identies and how she doesnt belong.

Cindy is central to this story because she forced Elaine to be someone that she really not(IDENTITIES). Not only is Cindy a bully but it's ironic how Elaine is inspired by her. In my opinion Cindy constantly bother Elaine because of the fact that she is from China.

I feel that Tim statement is truebecause she is a minority also, but instead of taking the route Elaine did buy letting them tease her she came in as the strong one and gave herself an idenity to Live up to.

I agree with Tim beacause she feels that in order to gain respect from the majority she has to stand out and be notice, even if it is in a negative way. Elaine does the opposite by trying to become one of the majority and in the process creating two seperate selves.

Elaine and Cindy have a very weird relationship because they are both the minorities, but yet they stil do not get along.
The reason Cindy is the central of the story is because she dictates Elaine's popularity.

I THINK CINDY IS SO CENTRAL TO THE STORY BECAUSE SHE PORTRAYS AN IMAGE OF ELAINE'S TROUBLES....SO THROUGHOUT THE STORY ELAINE GOES THROUGH DIFFERENT SITUATIONS WITH CINDY'S RACIST AND CRUDE REMARKS TOWARDS HER. THROUGH THE STORY ELAINE TRIES TO FIT IN AND FIQURE HERSELF OUT.....

TO Tink,
I feel that Cindy continuously reminds Elaine that she is from China to kind of make her feel low, and to boost her self esteem.

The reason cindy is central to the story is because bascially she's going through the same thing that elaine is going through and they both realize that but cindy doesn't want to admit to it and confess up that the reason that she is going around judging people on where they come from or who they are, Is because she feel as though that's what's making her stand out from the crowd but what she dont know is that she's giving her herself a bad vibe and repuation towards others and also she's not only making herself look bad but also her famliy.

I ALSO AGREE WITH NELLIEBOO BECAUSE I FEEL THAT THEY ARE SOMEWHAT ON THE SAME GROUND AND SINCE ELAINE IS NEW TO THE SCHOOL....CINDY MAY FEEL THREATENED BY ELAINES BEAUTY, QUIETNESS, OR NATURAL ORA. I THINK THAT NEAR THE END OF THE STORY CINDY AND ELAINE WILL BECOME FRIENDS BECAUSE OF THE THINGS IN THIER LIFE ARE SO COMMON.

In the story, Cindy Fisher and her friends follows Elaine/Ming Yee down random streets. She starts to see something ironic happening to the street signs. The signs went from K st and Lst to Irving st and Gardening st. Cindy Fisher suddenly stops because she knows that she is going in to a different neighbor hood that Elaine feels she would be safe.
You see, every body have been teasing Elaine because she’s Chinese, and now that Cindy beats up on every body, and forces her to fit in, she feels as though the only way to be safe is to go into her nice, quiet, white neighbor hood. "Cindy is so central to the story" because she is a form of power. Sher tends to pick on other people and forces Elaine to fit in with the white kids.

I agree with tim. because Cindy is a minority and think she picks on Elaine cause now the kids like her and Cindy feels left out.

I believe that Felecia statement is true because she has evidence to support her opinion.

I think Cindy is so central because she sets out the difference between her true identity and Elaine's identity based on her reactions toward Elaine, when she SHOUTED out in Chinese. Cindy is in a situation where her guards are up in the place whereas though that the two races like "tinkerbell babii' explained in her blog.
